Peg Perego 4-35 Review

October 9, 2015

This is an awesome car seat for our baby. He was born at 7lbs 11oz, 20″ long and he fit it in just fine from the get go. The car seat is fully adjustable, and super easy to use and adjust. Strap height and length were an ease to adjust with just the push of a button.

Standing at 9.5lbs, the car seat is not particularly heavy (until your kid is in it!) and the base is a mere 7lbs. The other great thing with this seat, is that you can fasten it in a vehicle without the base, which makes it convenient if you’re heading out in a family member’s car.

The seat comes with stage 1 and stage 2 inserts. The stage 1 insert is supposed to be used until the baby is about 10lbs, but maybe because of the length/height of our baby, he still fits in it well, and he currently weighs 11lbs.

The only challenge we found with the car seat is when our baby’s diaper leaks. It can be messy, but usually will soil either (or both) of the stage 1 and stage 2 inserts. Both inserts are super easy to remove, and can be thrown in the wash. The problem with this is, while the stuff is in the wash, we can’t use the car seat. I contacted Peg Pérego Canada and their customer service is awesome. You can actually purchase additional inserts and liners for the car seat so you’ll always have one readily available. The other bonus with this, is that if you can’t decide on a colour of the car seat (because it comes in 20 different colours), you can purchase a different coloured liner and have the best of both worlds.

We are using the car seat in both our vehicles – a Toyota Corolla, and Toyota Highlander – and it fits great in both vehicles. There is obviously more space between the driver’s seat and the car seat in the highlander but it still fits just fine in the (smaller) Corolla.

Overall, I would give this car seat a 5 star rating. Amazing seat, and you know if there’s a problem, the customer service team is happy to look after you. I like a company that stands behind their products.
