Losing my identity
When I became pregnant with our first child, I was a working woman, had a University degree, and a career at the Surrey School District here in BC. After our son was born, I still considered myself to be in the work force, even though I was on maternity leave for the following year. When people would ask what I did, I replied that I was a Safe School Liaison for the Surrey School District. I had a good job with decent pay, benefits, and I had an identity. I could identify
